The Relationships And Motivation Lab (RAMLAB) consists of undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral researchers working to understand how interpersonal relationships work. The team employs a range of empirical methods—experimental, observational, longitudinal, experience-sampling, etc.—to investigate when two strangers feel a touch of fire during a first meeting, how people can navigate conflict more constructively, why the changing nature of marriage makes it more difficult to build a fulfilling marriage even as it makes the best marriages better than ever, and so forth.

Important Note on Graduate Admissions: It is unlike that the RAMLAB will admit a PhD student during the Fall 2023 application season. That said, it is standard for students to work with multiple faculty members in our group, so it’s likely that an interested student enrolling in our program could have Eli as a secondary advisor.
